Although there aren't a lot of huge resorts like in Oahu(which is one of the things we like best about Kauai!), there are a couple of oceanfront resort hotels where you can enjoy the "resort" experience, and your kids will find plenty to do.

Let's start on the south shore and Poipu. We can guarantee you will LOVE staying at one of the oceanfront resorts in Poipu, and the south shore just says "family" more than the north side. We all know when you're staying at a hotel with kids, the POOL is the most important amenity offered, and this one ROCKS!!

Right up the beach, is another great beach front resort, the Sheraton Kauai Resort. As the first and oldest (I think) beachfront resort, this has been the "signature" beachfront resort on the island for a long time. The pool comes in a close second to the Grand Hyatt, and the kids will love it.
